July 28, 2007- Clowning Around With Kristen and Michael

I am always hoping for a wedding that provides me with unique people and opportunities to photograph... that's what keeps things interesting. Well, I got more than I bargained for this past weekend. Our groom, Michael, was a graduate of the Barnum and Bailey Clown College. Need I say more. We got some great images that captured the couples lighter side as well as their more traditional sensibilities. This was truly one of the funnest and nicest couples that we have ever photographed. Here are a few of our favorite shots.

Their cake was made by Mariann's Bake Shop in Clarksburg, WV. I happen to know first hand that not only do these cakes look great, they taste just as good!

A special thanks to Michael and Kristen for giving us the opportunity to do what we love! I hope you're enjoying your honeymoon.

BIG NEWS!!!

The results from the Professional Photographers of America International Print Competition were posted. You could submit up to four prints and not only did all four of mine earn merits, but two of my images were accepted into the PPA Showcase collection! The earned merits are applied toward my Master or Craftsman degree if I choose to pursue them. The Showcase is a collection of roughly 200 images selected by the judges to be published in a book displaying exceptional work from photographers all over the world. There were over 5,000 entries, so having two of my images selected for the Showcase collection makes me pretty happy!

July 14, 2007 Shannon and Patsy

We had an awesome couple this past weekend. I had photographed Shannon’s nieces for several years when I had my studio. That’s how Shannon picked us to photograph her wedding. It was a little depressing seeing how much Lindsay and Laura had grown! I was joking that I was going to give Lindsay one of my monopods that she could use as a stick to beat the boys away. These guys had one of the nicer weddings that I’ve seen in quite some time and that’s saying a lot coming from me. Their reception was at Village Square with decorations by Michael Romeo of Unique Creations. Everything was simply beautiful. Bonnie Belle’s of Nutter Fort made them a gorgeous cake that you can see below. I also got the opportunity to (finally) work with one of the coolest videographers I’ve ever met. Jenna Merandi and her assistant (whose name has slipped my mind) of Dreamcatcher Productions really impressed me. I cannot over-express my recommendation for these ladies. I have seen their work and let me tell you, it’s tough to beat. If you’re looking for a great videographer, book her quick before she becomes a pharmacist!

Overall, this was one of the classiest affairs I’ve been privileged to photograph. Here’s a look at some of the images we captured that day.

07/07/07-George and Emily

Ok, so it's taken me awhile to get this post up, but hey, I've been dealing with a sick baby. Anyways, this past weekend we got to photograph a really cool couple. George and Emily are quite possibly two of the nicest people that I've ever met. You can't help but have a good time when you're around them. Their wedding took place in Grafton at the Mother's Day Shrine and we got to make some pretty awesome images at this historical building across the street. Too bad we couldn't get inside of it... their is all kinds of beautiful marble that's being renovated. Their was also another building that had some old ads painted on the side, but we only got a few images close up because their were cars parked all in front of it. Anyways, we still got some pretty good stuff so enjoy and let me know what you think.

This guy was being a little shy, but Brian got a good one of him.

Old buildings make the coolest backgrounds....First dance....
I like ring shots.
George and Emily, thanks for showing us a great time and congratulations!

Sweet Child O' Mine

This is my baby girl, Kimberly. I took this photo on July 4th on our way out the door to a cook out, and while it's not the most technically perfect photo I've ever taken of her, it is the most recent. Kimmy is just getting over a little sickness the past couple days and is finally getting back to her self. I'm hoping for a full nights sleep tonight!
